SOC 2 (which stands for Systems and Organization Controls 2), is a security framework that specifies how organizations should protect customer data from unauthorized access, security incidents, and other vulnerabilities.
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) developed and launched the SOC 2 standard in 2010 around five trust services criteria: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.
Wendt Partners worked with BD Emerson, a world-class IT Security consulting firm and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), to build out controls that aligned with SOC 2 Type 1, HIPAA, ISO 27001, and GDPR standards in less than 90 days.
As part of this process, Wendt Partners has now implemented and validated a range of cutting-edge IT security technologies including Vanta for trust management; Venn as the firm's secure enclave; Crowdstrike for security management; NinjaOne for endpoint management; and and Google for enterprise user management and security.
Having successfully completed the SOC 2 Type 1 audit and been validated against that standard by a third-party attestation firm, Wendt Partners is now moving forward with preparations for SOC 2 Type 2 and is currently in a monitoring window. Concurrently, Wendt has passed the Stage 1 ISO 27001 audit and is planning on sitting for stage two in August to achieve the global security standard, ISO 27001.
During this robust compliance initiative, Wendt Partners underwent audits against NIST’s cybersecurity framework (CSF 2.0); and the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) standard as well.
